THE MOTHER OF GOD OF PRIESTS
In the diary of ST. FAUSTINA KOWALSKA, Divine Mercy In My Soul, the apostle and secretary of the Divine Mercy revealed:
“A vision of the Mother of God. In the midst of a great brilliance, I saw the Mother of God clothed in a white gown, girt about with a golden cincture; and there were tiny stars, also of gold, over the whole garment, and chevron-shape sleeves lined with gold. Her cloak was sky-blue, lightly thrown over the shoulders. A transparent veil was delicately drawn over her head, while her flowing hair was set off beautifully by a golden crown which terminated in little crosses. On her left arm she held the Child Jesus … Then she looked at me kindly and said: I am the Mother of God of Priests … Then she addressed me once again: Tell the priests what you have seen” (Diary 1585).

A member of the Company of St. Dominic, our very own Fra Angelico, artist REGGIE MACAPAGAL, O.P. painted this depiction of the Blessed Mother based on the vision of St. Faustina:
“I completed this painting six months ago yet; but on Thursday, January 12, 2012, while in deep prayer, I suddenly saw a vision of the image, and with it a message conveying some deep urgency: “Pray for priests.” At once, I recognized this coming from St. Faustina’s Diary of the Divine Mercy, and I realized I was being asked to do some about it.”

Brother Reggie Macapagal reflected:
“The priesthood is very much imperiled by so many threats, including the lack of vocations and many great temptations. All of us need to respond. We need to pray for priests, at least recite the Divine Mercy Chaplet and/or the Rosary of the Blessed Mother.”

Last January 17, 2012, the painting of Bro. Reggie Macapagal was unveiled and blessed by REV. FR. MARIUSZ JARZABEK, M.I.C. at the Archdiocesan Shrine of the Divine Mercy at Maysilo Circle, Mandaluyong City.
Bro. Reggie Macapagal gave a copy of the painting of the Mother of God of Priests to CSD Brother Formator Marwil N. Llasos, O.P. with the dedication: “Dear Bro. Marwil, Our Blessed Mother’s blue mantle is over you … protecting you … Loving you …”

Our beloved brother in the CSD, Reggie Macapagal, O.P. is like Fra Angelico. He is an artist and also a mystic. He has the gift of seeing visions. He is a very humble, holy man. He was the one who made a portrait of Cardinal Gaudencio Rosales with the Mediatrix of All Grace. Very moving portrait.
This portrait of the Mother of God of Priests is his rendition based on the vision of St. Faustina. He interpreted it. He also saw the portrait in a vision. I believe him when he said that.
Then last January 17, I didn't expect he would be there at Divine Mercy. It turned out that his painting would be unveiled and blessed.
He gave me a souvenir picture. And he scribbled on the envelope the dedication. I'd like to believe that the dedication is based on a vision that he also saw that night.
If I could ask for a copy, I will send you.

And by the way, Bro. Reggie confirmed to me that the dedication he wrote was based on the vision he saw that night. I am deeply humbled. It's an affirmation of Mama Mary's love and protection for me. It came at a time when I have been receiving death threats almost daily. Allow me to praise thee, O Most Holy Virgin! Grant me strength against your enemies!
Ngayon ko lang nabasa ang response mo po hehe. Ang galing at ang ganda ng Mahal na Ina... Mas kailangan ko siya ngayong nagiging lax ang religious life ko... I dont want to have my faith weaken from the concerns of my life gusto ko maging matatag at wala akong ibang alam na hihingan kundi si Mama Mary...
